Dalla boasted that if his soliders were there, the Guru would not have suffered losses in the Battle of Chamkaur. Sri Guru Gobind Singh remained quiet, but the next day when someone presented the Guru with a new gun, he asked Dalla to get one of his soldiers as target for a test fire. All of his men were boggled. On contrast when the Guru asked Dalla to give a call to his Sikhs, two of them instantly came running forward and fiercely vied with each other to receive the shot. He asked them to stand one after the other and fire a shot above their heads, saying,
‘The Word is the Truth’
