Dhan Dhan Guru De Pyarai Daughter of Sri Guru Gobind Sahib Ji Daughter of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji Fearless Warriors Courageous Mothers Determined Daughters They suffered great in-humane tortures Watch their children bleed to death Witnessed the brutal murder of their husbands Yet, they fought for freedom and faith Remembered Guru Ji in every breath And were an Inspiration to all Sikhs We are a Kaur Princess We are a Brave Lioness We are the Daughters of the Khalsa

Guru Ji's Daughters - Let us Do Seva
Harimandir Sahib longs for the touch of Thy mothers,
Thy sisters, daughters, and all the others,
Who bow each day to Siri Guru Granth,
Following the path of the Khalsa Panth,
Who enter freely through all four doors,
Except when it is time to clean the floors.

In those holiest hours when it is such
A beautiful time to serve and touch
The marble where the saints have walked,
Why must those gilded doors be locked
To women alone, the Guru’s daughters,
Cleansed by Thy Word and Thy Holy Waters?

The women of Bibi Bhani’s line,
And those descended from Mata Sahib Kaur’s time,
Gather as one to utter this prayer:
"O compassionate Guru of infinite care,
Let all Sikhs enact this holy rite,
As all are immaculate in Thy sight."

Ironic, isn't it, how we like to brag that we are the only major religion where men and women are held to be equal, and, yet, this?

And in most gurdwaras, women are not allowed to be in the panj pyare...In fact, when my own son took amrit shortly before being killed in Delhi, both his father and I had to be in the panj pyare. There were only the six of us available, all Khalsa fortunately, one a woman in advanced pregnancy. One wonders, then, how the Sikh powers-that-be would regard our martyred sons.

I have said before, we Kaurs are going to have a very long wait if we wait for our brother Singhs to voluntarily give us our rightful place.

We need to firmly agitate, quoting Guruji , and standing our ground as Khalsa.
